Astronaut / Space Themed Birthday Party

Astronaut / Space Themed Birthday Party

My son just turned 3 years old and we had an awesome space themed party. My son is really into space and astronauts lately so we had them blast off into space.

INVITATION:
Here is the invitation that we sent out for the party:

DECORATION:

T minus 10 Seconds.....

I found a Styrofoam Model Solar system in Michael's and hung them up on the ceiling. I also had some old paper lanterns that we hung up and a globe ball. And some plane old balls as well :)

T minus 9 Seconds.....

We also had some planet decals that we put up.

I got a pack of glow in the dark stars and comets from the dollar store, but it was hard to see with all the light. So we hung up a blue table cloth (from dollar store) and glued the stars on it. We made a few constellations with the stars. My son's old homemade Halloween costume - foam Sun-also went up on the wall.

T minus 8 Seconds.....

My FIL turned a cardboard house into a space station.

ACTIVITIES:

T minus 7 Seconds.....

Level 1 : Shuttle Orientation

When the tiny astronauts arrived on launch date, they had to first 'check-in' and get these name tags.

T minus 6 Seconds.....

T minus 5 Seconds.....

We made them sit down and make paper rockets. They used crayons and colored their rockets (we had to help them make the rockets). The kids had fun throwing rockets around the house. This was a great activity and gave everyone acquainted.

T minus 4 Seconds.....

T minus 3 Seconds.....

Level 2 : Astronaut dress up

We cannot send our tiny astronauts to space without a rocket! We had to suit them up with these fun and easy home-made rockets

T minus 2 Seconds.....

T minus 1 Seconds.....

Level 3: Rocket Launch

T minus 0 Seconds.....

And we have lift off...!

We bought this Ultra Stomp Rocket from Amazon. It was a big hit. If you are having a space party you should get this for sure.

Level:4 - Anti-gravity Balance

What kids doesn't want to jump on a mattress! We gave them a reason to jump for once! We brought down and old mattress and had the kids jump on it

Level:5 - Asteroid attack

Then we played bowling had an Aaaasteroid attttack!

After all that travel.... we had to feed our tiny astronaut bellies.

MENU:

We had South Indian food for dinner, but made it 'spacey'.

Mini moon (mini idlis)
Sambar (Jupiter lake)
Chutney (space dust)
Medu Vada (Saturn Rings)
Pakoda (crazy asteroids)
Last but not least, a vegan cake fit for any astronaut!
